SPARKS! Lighting A Fire

I had the absolute pleasure of attending SPARKS weekend last weekend, hosted by my union, NJEA. It was a big mystery and that remains part it so I can't spoil much, except for how beautiful Cape May, NJ is. There was great bonding time with other young teacher and new tips I learned - which I began to implement in my room and will show off soon!

Happy April Fool's Day!

I pulled two pranks on my kids today! Before spring break I promised them brownies if they brought in their report today; well they did … and so did I!

I left the brownie tray on my table on day and the kids kept bugging - well when I was ready I handed out the word search … the one where none of the words were in the puzzle. After about 5 minutes of struggles and moans they figured it out. I apologized and said they deserve brownies for falling for my prank … when I opened the tray, they got mad but got a good laugh at the Brown-Es. I won today!


Oh … and my Principal fell for the Brown-Es too, she made me feel bad because she was hungry!

Spring Break

I've finally had a few days off - the first since winter break way back when. I enjoyed my week off although I didn't do much! Let's see; I joined Six Flags for the season, celebrated Passover with my family, and visited my college.

I guess my favorite part was visiting my college - I spoke to a group of students about finding a job and the woes of first year teaching. The best part . . . the gift I walked away with!
